Louis Vuitton X Nigo Collection
Is that Louis Vuitton bag melting?
The internet was set ablaze when Louis Vuitton teased an upcoming collaboration between Virgil Abloh and NIGO back in December 2019. The collection was named LV² (LV squared) , proposed by Nigo to highlight the dual approach by the two creative artists. The fact that Nigo, who’s famous for his work involving vintage workwear, is collaborating with Louis Vuitton to release a collection that combines the duo's signature designs is sure to hit the fashion world hard. As images surfaced on the internet, we got a detailed glimpse into the collection. It’s really hard to describe the collection put forth by the collaboration. We believe that pictures do better justice but we’ll do our best.
The collection features a wide variety of tailored designs that range from LV plastered denim jackets, to blazers to square-patterned damier suits. The designs and lookbook take on NIGO’s love for Savile Row suiting. The looks are slim, refined and sophisticated, accompanied by fringed scarves, chunky sunglasses, skinny Damier ties and LV -branded caps. On June 26, the brand released their first drop of the LV² collection. The drop features an array of denim jackets, trousers, and shirts that carry the brand’s iconic damier and monogram design. The highlight of the drop HAS to be uniquely layered ice cream “drip” effect and NIGO’s HUMAN MADE motif, as seen most prominently on the backpacks, duffels, shoulder bags and totes. Stay tuned for more updates and future drops. For more information regarding the current drop and the pieces featured, visit the Louis Vuitton
