Glenn Martens Takes over at Diesel

The next big news in the industry points to the Italian retail clothing company, Diesel's newest Creative Director, Glenn Martens. You may have heard the name being mentioned here and there, but fashionistas are certainly aware of the mastermind behind the Paris-based label, Y/ Project. As a brand that was always pushing against boundaries, not playing by the rules, and most importantly, projecting freedom when it comes to denim, Marten's addition to Diesel will put the brand on track to its roots. Diesel co-founder, Renzo Rosso, says that this move will mark a new chapter for the brand; by bringing it back to its cool roots after a few years where it seems to have lost its identity a little bit. He says. “We need to be about freedom, comfort, and to feel good about being rebellious. We’re not luxury. We’re the alternative to luxury.”

LV x NBA Capsule collection

Aside from the thundering announcement of this year's NBA champions, which goes to the LA Lakers, the next biggest news in the fashion industry is the announcement of Virgil's next project; the LV x NBA capsule collection. With a signed 3 year partnership between the two entities, the collection will focus on the idea of a basketball player's wardrobe and aims to capture that spirit across the luxury brand's interpretation of three main dress codes: travels, game arrivals, and press conferences. As you'd expect, the whole capsule collection comes with a full set of apparel, shoes, trunks, and many more. Abloh said in a statement. "This collection celebrates the cultural contribution of basketball and its diverse characters, and the idea of relatability as a force of unity today."

Off-White x Jordan Capsule collection

The Jordan brand is really scoring lots this year (pun intended). With its many upcoming collaborations with long-term collaboration, Nike as well as the recent Fragment, the Jordan name is practically everywhere when it comes to sportswear. Earlier this week, we've received news of an upcoming collaboration between the Jordan brand and Off-White. While leaks have only shown us some sneak peeks of a hoodie and T-shirt, more pieces are bound to show up later. The collection is said to release alongside the Air Jordan 5 Retro in a new Sail colourway.

Fendi goes all-in on National Handbag Day

This past October the 10th marks National Handbag day. Italian luxury Fashion House, Fendi, celebrated this day by paying homage to its most iconic bag, the Fendi Baguette. Dating back to when it was first released in 1997, the Baguette was THE bag that pioneered the shape, style, and designs of generations bags that are to come. It put Fendi in the eyes of many individuals, which to no surprise to us, Fendi was eventually acquired by the LVMH group in 1999. Born from the creative mind of Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Fendi Baguette takes inspiration from the designer's grandmother's collection of bags from the early 1900s. The Baguette's come a long way since its first days as Fendi offers a myriad of designs, materials, and sizes.
