When Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God was first introduced to Alessandro Sartori of Ermenegildo Zegna in 2018, the duo both knew instantly that something enormous was coming. Fast forward to March 2020, the worlds about to witness the birth of the ultimate collaboration that we think could be the best one of the year, if not, years. Despite being miles apart in terms of aesthetics, Lorenzo and Sartori were bonded by their desire and spirit to create something new in the fashion world. In order to achieve that, they needed to work together.

The collection's ethos stems from their idea that there is a massive disconnect in how people view fashion and tailoring. Considered by the mass as general intimidating, the sartorial and tailoring world is a huge deal that involves many steps starting from consultation, material selection all the way to second and third fittings to ensure that the ultimate fit is achieved. The duo's main question was; how do we make tailoring feel like a hoodie and a pair of sweat pants? With an ongoing maturation from the youth side and an increasing desire for easiness from the older generation, the Fear of God x Ermenegildo Zegna collection seems to be the missing piece from this jigsaw.

The collection features 39 different versatile looks from striped, boxy grey suits made from the finest natural wools and super-lightweight suede shirts to black leather bombers and Western-style boots. As expected from Lorenzo's vision, all garments come with a timeless neutral-tone minimalist look that you're bound to keep for a long time. Lorenzo claims that the collection is 100% made for a man with a woman in mind. We'll leave it to you to figure out what he means by that.

If you're into luxury streetwear and high-end top of the line sartorial clothing, then this collection has your name on it. As much as we'd like to say that you won't get to see another collaboration of this caliber, we wouldn't know for sure. With the ongoing popularity of new collaborations that are pretty much popping up every week, we won't be surprised if one day Tom Ford pairs up with who knows what?

The moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here as the Italian fashion house website is now open for pre-orders.
